It should also be noted that until 2019, according to the President, currently the total demand for Papua, Papua and West Papua is 280MW. He added that by 2019, it is hoped that the figure will be 730MW, which has more than doubled so that it is hoped that there will be no more electricity shortages in West Papua.


"I have ordered the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to give priority to the use of gas for our electricity. Not all coal, there must be several power plants, both using gas, using microhydro power, using the sun, and also ocean currents, which we will also start in NTT," said the President, who also said that these are the efforts made by the government in order to provide electricity. To various ministries, President Jokowi has ordered to present various breakthroughs in order to accelerate the development of electricity infrastructure.
